Halifax’s Ambassatours has built a 32, 0000 square foot building that will be their new corporate headquarters and serve as their bus depot. The building owner wanted to highlight green building practices and turned to CarbonCure as a cost-effective method to reduce the project’s environmental footprint.

Check out CBC’s feature on the use of CarbonCure’s technology in the Ambassatours project.

The original idea to use CarbonCure’s technology in the project’s ready mixed concrete was presented by contractor B.D. Stevens. Luke Elliot, General Manager at B.D. Stevens, has been involved from the beginning of the project and in their hunt for green technologies found CarbonCure was a great fit for the project. The project used CarbonCure’s technology in its poured slab and tilt up panels.

In an interview with the Halifax newspaper The Chronicle Herald, Dennis Campbell, CEO of Ambassatours, contributed the following,“We were told we’d be the first big building around here, and while normally we prefer not being guinea pigs, we did our research, and there have been various other projects with this infused concrete. We’ll just be the first big building in Canada with the product.”

Construction of the 17,000-square-foot service space was completed in June of 2016.
