Profile Snapshot
Name: Brady Miller
Title: Technical Services Specialist
Tenure at CarbonCure: 1 year
Educational Background: Associate’s Degree in Business; Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Marketing

Journey to CarbonCure

Brady’s path into the concrete industry was paved early by his father, a superintendent at a precast concrete plant. Brady spent his college summers working there, which led to him becoming ACI-certified for testing concrete and precast.

After working at the plant for eight years, Brady spent the next 18 years exploring all facets of the ready mix concrete industry, accumulating a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the space that culminated in him accepting a role on CarbonCure’s TSS team.

Concrete Expertise and Certifications

Brady has earned extensive professional certifications that make him uniquely qualified to deliver exceptional services to our customers. These include:

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification: This certification is a fundamental requirement for anyone working with concrete, ensuring the quality and reliability of concrete testing.
  • NRMCA Concrete Technologist Level II and III: These certifications distinguish Brady as a highly trained professional skilled in concrete mix design, quality control, and testing.
  • NRMCA Plant Manager Certification: This is essential for understanding the operations of a concrete plant and its impact on profit and loss, environmental compliance, and safety.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification: This certification provides basic safety and health information crucial for all workers in the construction and general industry.

A Typical Day on CarbonCure’s TSS Team

Brady’s primary responsibilities involve managing the concrete testing, evaluation and data analysis for CarbonCure's clients in the Western United States and Canada.

His day-to-day role involves collaborating with our customers’ QC, QA and technical teams to ensure compliance with carbon credit methodologies and maximize the integration of CarbonCure technologies across various concrete mixes.

Brady also works with CarbonCure’s account managers to evaluate project specifications and assists the Regulatory Working Group in their effort to encourage Departments of Transportation (DOTs) to add CarbonCure to their approved product listings.

Career Highlights at CarbonCure

Brady is particularly proud of two projects during his time on the TSS team.

The first highlight of Brady’s time at CarbonCure was with Brannan Sand and Gravel. Brady shared production data and the benefits of the digital platform with the Brannan team, leading to their highest increase in the volume of concrete produced with CarbonCure.

The second highlight was Brady’s first solo implementation at Lindsay Precast in Colorado. Brady validated mixes with a 3% cement optimization, which gave Lindsay the confidence to expand CarbonCure technology to several other production facilities in the U.S. They recently increased their cement optimization to 6% with ongoing monitoring and testing.

“I get great satisfaction from this role, especially when I see the confidence that’s instilled in everyone — from executives to entry-level employees — about the impact that their business is having by using CarbonCure,” shared Brady.

Looking Ahead

Brady is enthusiastic about continuing to provide more producers with CarbonCure's technologies, emphasizing the positive environmental and economic impacts. His dedication to promoting sustainable practices in the concrete industry is evident in every project he undertakes.
