CE Construction Solutions to introduce CarbonCure’s carbon removal technology for concrete to Australian market

CE Construction Solutions is the first CarbonCure Authorised Distributor in Oceania

Canberra, ACT - 29 October, 2020: CE Construction Solutions has become the first Authorised Distributor to bring CarbonCure’s innovative carbon removal technology for concrete producers to Australia.

CarbonCure enables concrete producers to inject captured carbon dioxide (CO₂) into concrete during mixing, where it mineralises and becomes permanently removed from the atmosphere. The mineralised CO₂ improves the concrete’s consistency and performance, while giving the producers a sustainability advantage.

“This technology represents an opportunity for the Australian concrete producers to remove upwards of 500,000 tonnes of CO₂ from our industry’s impact annually,” said Daniel Rowley, General Manager at CE Construction Solutions.

“By introducing this technology, we are calling on all stakeholders in the Australia building and construction industry to embrace CarbonCure and be a part of the sustainable construction solution.”

Originating in Halifax, Canada, CarbonCure is being used in nearly 300 concrete plants worldwide, and has been specified on numerous high-profile projects owned by leading global companies including LinkedIn and Amazon. With CarbonCure, every cubic metre of concrete produced removes an average of 17 kilograms of carbon emissions. If CarbonCure concrete was used to construct an average mid-rise building, 680 tonnes of CO₂ would be removed; which is equivalent to the emissions from driving 2.7 million kilometres in an average passenger vehicle.

“We are thrilled to have CE Construction Solutions join the global network of CarbonCure Authorised Distributors, supporting our vision of CO₂ removal technology becoming a standard for Australian concrete production,” said Kaja Salovsky, VP Business Development.  “Focused on delivering innovation to the concrete industry, CE Construction Solutions are well positioned to assist CarbonCure’s mission of reducing CO₂ emissions by 500 megatonnes per year.”

CE Construction Solutions has been providing innovative solutions to the Australian construction industry since 1973. The company works with a number of market-leading distribution partners to deliver solutions to the concrete, construction, infrastructure, engineering and mining industries in order to provide project efficiencies and streamline operations.
