CarbonCure Technologies’ 2026 Sustainability in Concrete Scholarship

CarbonCure is on a mission to empower cement and concrete producers with technologies and strategies to achieve the industry’s net zero commitment by 2050. As part of that mission, we are proud to support the next generation of sustainability champions within the concrete industry and we are excited to again offer the CarbonCure Sustainability in Concrete Scholarship in partnership with our producer partners from around the world.

Four Years of Investment & Impact

The CarbonCure Sustainability in Concrete Scholarship, now in its fourth year, welcomes applications from any full-time undergraduate student who can provide an official transcript confirming their participation in the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program at a CIM-affiliated institution for the 2025-2026 academic year. There will be five $2,000 scholarships awarded to a student representing each of the five CIM institutions in the United States who can best articulate, through essay submissions, strong interest and actionable ideas for improving the sustainability of concrete throughout their industry careers. The CIM program is currently offered at California State University, Chico, Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Texas State University and South Dakota State University.

Rhett Dunlap, an MTSU CIM alum and Utah-based CarbonCure commercial manager, serves as the chair of CarbonCure's scholarship selection committee. "The CIM program provided the foundation, skills and confidence that set me on my career path in the concrete industry, and I'm very proud of CarbonCure's ongoing support for the program," Dunlap said. "This annual scholarship underscores our commitment to elevating sustainable concrete solutions and investing in the talent that will shape the future of the industry and the built environment."

An Expanding Opportunity

New this year, CarbonCure is expanding the Sustainability in Concrete Scholarship to Canada, awarding an additional $2,000 scholarship to a Canadian undergrad who also aspires to catalyze sustainability in the concrete industry. To qualify for the scholarship, Canadian undergraduate students must provide an official transcript showing ongoing enrollment and completed or current coursework in concrete design or concrete manufacturing within civil engineering or similar programs at any Canadian university.

"While CarbonCure's technologies are deployed across the U.S. and around the world, the company was founded in 2012 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada where our headquarters and most of our team remain based today," said interim CEO Kristal Kaye. "With the expansion of the program into Canada, we’re proud to broaden our support for the next generation of innovators across North America, and we encourage applications from students pursuing concrete industry careers and who bring a passion for sustainability and green building."
